Tristar Transport LLC to receive the first Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks with Active Brake Assist 2 in MENA.

Gargash Enterprises, solid advocaters for road safety and active supporters of the UAE’s Vision 2021, supplied Tristar Transport LLC, with five Mercedes-Benz Actros 3344S 6×4 Trucks.

These unique trucks present the UAE’s roads with the latest in active and passive safety technology through their innovative system of Active Brake Assist 2.

The UAE-based liquid logistics solutions provider, Tristar Transport LLC, caters to the petroleum and chemical industries around the world, handling sensitive materials like hydrocarbons, chemicals and liquid gases on a daily basis. The company upholds the highest road safety standards, recognized by several awards. The Mercedes-Benz Actros Trucks are equipped with ADR safety equipment which facilitates the vehicle technically for transportation of hazardous liquids.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks have been pioneering the industry for more than 50 years when it comes to active and passive safety features. Besides the standard electronically controlled Telligent® braking system with Anti-lock braking system (ABS) and Acceleration skid control (ASR), the truck is also equipped with the optional Active Brake Assist. The Active Brake Assist system operates with three radar beams, which constantly scan an area of 1 to 200 meters ahead of the truck. Radar detection of a collision with a moving obstacle would result in the driver been given a visual and audile alert by the system. Depending on the severity of the situation, the system will react with a partial braking maneuver and, if necessary, even initiates an emergency braking to standstill. Thus, the Active Brake Assist helps to avoid dangerous rear-end collisions, for instance at the end of a traffic jam, and minimizes the impact for occupants in case a collision is inevitable.
